Takoradi, Dec. 4, GNA - President John A. Kufuor on Friday said he would pay great attention to the development of the Western Region if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were returned to power.
Addressing a rally in Takoradi during a day's visit to Sekondi-Takoradi, he said some development had come to the Region since the NPP Government came to power four years ago but a lot remained to be done.

He said: "The Region is the best as far as raw materials is concerned but it is not receiving the best in development projects."
President Kufuor spoke of ongoing development projects such as road construction in various parts of the Region adding that development projects would continue until the development of the area was brought to an appreciable standard.
He said the NPP would win 20 out of the 22 seats in the Region and win massively in order parts of the country.
President Kufuor said he would revive the Ghana Railways Company and modernise the Takoradi Harbour to create more jobs.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the Sankofa Concept of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was archaic and did not fit into the country's present political circumstance. He said the country could not go back to the ritual murder of women, chaos, instability and brutalities and Ghanaians must not allow anyone to take the country back to the old times of hardship and confusion.
