The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Nana Akwasi has been accused of being behind the shooting incident which occurred at the Party office some months leading to the death of one person.
It would be recalled that on February 18, 2019 there was an attack at the Ashanti Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) after two youth groups reportedly clashed resulting in in the death of Wasiu.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command subsequently declared 13 persons wanted over the shooting including one Sani Mohammed alias Commando, Wayo, Element, Jah Rule, as well as Petit, Akon, Fayiz, Mallam, Rock, Hussein Barri alias ‘Warrior’, Midjima, Damos and Abu Taliban.
Three of the wanted suspects, Wayo, Rock and Petit voluntarily surrendered to police according to the Ashanti Regional Police PRO Godwin Ahianyo until they were granted bail last Tuesday.
But a member of Ashanti Regional communication team of the NPP, Yaw Opoku Mensah who was speaking to MyNewsGh.com urged the Ashanti Regional Police Command to arrest Augustus Nana Akwasi the regional chairman of the NDC.
According to Yaw Opoku Mensah, the Regional Chairman of NDC Augustus Nana Akwasi is behind the shooting incident which occurred at the party office and the stabbing of Akon.
“We all know that the fight was between Regional Security formed by Augustus Nana Akwasi and some vigilante group members of NDC. Police have to arrest him for questions as they invited Joseph Yammin and Yamoah Ponkoh. Nana Akwasi is behind the shooting incident. The members of Regional security of NDC are Nana Akwasi boys. He must be arrested” he said
