John Kudalor
Former Inspector General of Police, Mr. John Kudalor has justified his decision to donate to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region.
Mr. Kudalor is reported to have donated about 100 plastic chairs to the Agona East Constituency office of the NDC because he feels they need the seats to help them conduct their meetings properly.
Reacting to criticisms about his gesture on Accra-based Citi Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he disclosed that there is absolutely nothing wrong with donating to the NDC as far he is concerned.
He explained that he is a citizen of Ghana and it is within his right to determine who to support and who not wondering why many are trying to make a fuss out of his gesture to a political party.
“I don’t see anything wrong with it…just that I come from that constituency and I visited them once and realized they did not have adequate chairs so I just decided to donate to them. I don’t see anything wrong with it. I am a citizen and I have every right to that if I feel like doing it”, he disclosed.
Asked if this was not in variance with his standing as former police chief, he said “When I was Inspector General of Police I made sure I had a level playing field. The last elections I conducted are there for everybody to refer to. I was Director-General of Operations I worked there for everybody to see. When I was Inspector General of Police wasn’t voting? If I was not supposed to vote I would not have voted and that is not supposed to have an influence on my job.”
