The ruling New Patriotic Party has congratulated all parliamentary candidates of the NDC elected in the party’s primaries over the weekend.
A statement signed by General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu also congratulated the NDC for organizing what they term a ‘largely smooth exercise’.
The party however condemned the acts of violence and intimidation that happened in some constituencies during Saturday’s elections.
“Also worrying for the NPP, is the vulgar display of opulence and profligacy witnessed in some of the constituencies, which, together with the violent acts, almost marred the entire beauty of the exercise. For a political party that prides itself as a credible alternative to the governing NPP, these worrying developments should give a major cause for concern.” The statement added.
