Wenchi (B/A), March 22, GNA - The Youth wing of the New Patriotic Party in the Wenchi Constituency has commended President John Agyekum Kufuor for appointing three citizens of the area to serve in his government.
They are Professor George Gyan Baafour, MP for Wenchi, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Madam Ama Busia, who has been appointed as Member of the Council of State and Mr Obeng Gyan Busia, appointed as a Consul General in New York. Mr Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Youth Organizer, told the Ghana News Agency
at Wenchi that the appointments constituted a great prestige and honour to the community.
He advised the people to bury their political differences so that they could forge ahead in unity and initiate development programmes. The youth leader congratulated the three personalities and urged them to place the development of Wenchi above their individual and personal interests.
Mr Saarah-Mensah advised the youth to be law abiding and to guard against practices that could affect the development of the area. He appealed to the royal family and kingmakers of the Wenchi stool to work harmoniously to select the next occupant of the stool to replace the late Omanhene, Osagyefo Ampem Abrefa Mbore Bediatuo V1.
