Sebreso (Ash), April 1, GNA - The chiefs and people of Sebreso Electoral Area have appealed to the President to re-nominate Mr Joe Boampong as the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive.

Nana Kwadu Kessieko II, the Sebresohene, and the assembly member, Mr Abdulai Hussain, who made the appeal on behalf of the people said Mr Boampong had performed well and should be given back the job. ''The re-nomination of Mr Boampong will facilitate the development of the electoral area and the entire municipality,'' Nana Kessieko said. He said over the past four years the people in the area had seen a number of development projects.

"The recent inauguration of the first incinerator to be built by the assembly at Kwabenakwakrom is a testimony of the way the MCE wants to develop the electoral area."

Nana Kessieko appealed to ''all good people in the municipality'' to support the appeal to the President "since Mr Boampong is a local person who understands the problems facing us".

Nana Kesseiko urged the Obuasi constituency members of the New Patriotic Party to rally behind Mr Boampong not only for the development of the area but also for the growth of the party.

Mr Hussain mentioned nine development projects Mr Boampong had undertaken in the electoral area since he assumed duty as the political head of the area and expressed appreciation to the President for raising Obuasi to a municipal status.
