The death is reported of Mr. Ambrose Ladzapo, driver of Professor John Atta Mills, NDC presidential candidate for the 2004 elections. He was 62. Mr. Ambrose worked with Prof. Mills for well over 15 years, having started with him from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where Prof. Mills was the first chairman of the board, then acting commissioner, then substantive commissioner.

In the process, he saw the Prof. through three presidential elections ? the 1996 elections where Prof. Mills was the vice presidential candidate, and the 2000 and 2004 election when he was the presidential candidate of the NDC.

Prof. Mills was in Kumasi on the campaign trail with Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed for the Asawase bye-election last Saturday when news of Mr. Ambrose?s death was broken to him. He left for Accra immediately after the rally in the afternoon.
