The Nkoranza North Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Emmanuel Amofa Asare–Adjei has stated the constituency executives will not denying any party member in good standing the opportunity to contest in the upcoming Parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
According to him, as a democratic party, the NPP respects the democratic rights of qualified persons to run for political office and will not hinder any such interested person from pursuing their dream.
Addressing a press conference on the measures put in place since the opening of nominations for 2020 parliamentary primaries in the Constituency office, Busunya on January 27, 2020, Asare – Adjei urged all aspiring Parliamentary candidates to respect the dos and don’ts covering the primaries as the ground rules will be followed to the letter.
“We appeal to all potential aspirants to respect the rules of the game to ensure a very clean, fair and transparent process.”
He added that the party is poised to double the votes secured by the NPP in the last general elections to enable President Akufo-Addo to continue with another term in office.
He told Naagyei FM’s Kwame Baffoe Adjei in a subsequent interview that speculations that some MPs will be protected and allowed to go unopposed should be disregarded.
