NDC constituency branch elects officers

Tankor (B/A) July 21, GNA - Members of Nkoranza North Constituency branch of National Democratic Congress (NDC) have elected new executive members to manage the affairs of the party and organize members to compete keenly in the 2008 general elections.

Officials of the Nkoranza District Office of the Electoral Commission, led by the District Officer, Mr. George Gyabaa, supervised the elections.

Dr. Kofi Amoako-Gyampah, Medical Director in-charge of St. Theresa's Hospital at Nkoranza polled 33 votes to take over from Mr. Philip Kwabena Kyeremeh, incumbent Chairman, who had 14 votes.

Mr. Abdulai Kramo was elected first vice chairman, Mr. Musah Yeboah, second vice chairman and Mr. Kofi Adu-Bediako, secretary. Others were Mr. Osei Kudom, organizer, Mr. Solomon Yaw Ofosu, propaganda secretary, Miss Helena Pokuaa, women organizer and Miss Elizabeth Nyarko, assistant women's organizer. Mr. Kwame Damte is assistant propaganda secretary and Mr. Kwabena Acheampong, porter.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer of the party Mr. Mohammed Seidu and Madam Agnes Adomah, Regional Women Organizer represented the Regional Executives and witnessed the conduct of the elections. Mr. Seidu called for co-operation among the executives so they would be able to organise the people to vote for the party in the 2008 elections.

Madam Adomah urged NDC women to be very active and offer the necessary support and assist in mobilizing more people to become members of the party.

Dr. Amoako-Gyampah expressed gratitude to the delegates on his election and gave the assurance to work to promote activities of the party for its development.
