Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu
The Friends of Kwaku Agyeman Manu, (FOKAM) have claimed that there is an ongoing ‘fiendish’ agenda by the NPP Member of Parliament for Dormaa West, Hon Ali Maiga and the Constituency Chairman for Dormaa Central to unseat the Health Minister who doubles as the MP for Dormaa Central.
According to them Hon Ali Maiga has ignored his constituency and has team up with Chairman Mumuni using religious, tribal sentiments and resorting to other means in carrying out this agenda against the Cabinet Minister (Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu) in the upcoming primaries in the party which is adversely affecting the NPP and government.
Speaking exclusively to Daniel Kaku, the group pointed accusing fingers at Hon. Ali Maiga for constantly holding secret meetings in Dormaa Ahenkro hatching a plan to create disaffection to thwart the re-election bid of Hon, Kwaku Agyemang Manu in the upcoming elections.
According to them, they can't understand why Hon Ali Maiga would be so much interested in who becomes the next Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central when the facts on the grounds suggest that the party may need to work extra harder to maintain the Dormaa West seat where Ali Maiga is the Member of Parliament.
"He’s been doing this all over the Constituency and we are issuing a strong warning that, we are not going to sit down and allow him to do what he did in the 2016 elections by campaigning for his people to vote "skirt and blouse" against Nana Akufo-Addo just because he (Ali Maiga) wanted to win his parliamentary seat. This Constituency belongs to us and we must determine the one who becomes our next member of Parliament", they emphasized.
FOKAM stated that the performance of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was globally recognized which has cushioned his chances of winning the 2020 polls, however, its unfortunate that while President Akufo-Addo was receiving the loudest applause especially at the United Nations General Assembly, Ali Maiga and his cohorts were thwarting his efforts at the local level.
However, Friends of Kwaku Agyemang Manu have entreated Ali Maiga to concentrate on winning his seat which is at the verge of slipping back to the NDC and shun backbiting and internal strife and team up as one family so that they could together work to help make the NPP win the 2020 polls easily.
