24 persons vie for Eastern Regional NPP executive positions

Koforidua, Oct 23, GNA - Twenty-four persons including Nana Fredua Agyeman Ofori Atta, a media consultant, have filed their nominations to contest the nine executive positions for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region.

The two-term incumbent regional chairman of the party, Nana Kofi Adi Ankamah, is being challenged by Mr Seth Michael Ahyia, a former regional secretary, Mr Yaw Gyekye Amoabeng and Kofi Lartey. The only unopposed candidate is the two-term First Vice Chairman, Mr Christian Kofi Tettey, the Yilo Krobo District Chief Executive. For the Second Vice Chairman, the contestants are Mr George Osei Ameyaw and Mar Umar Baba Bodinga, for Secretary, the incumbent, Mr Alecs Agobo is being challenged by his assistant, Mr George Owusu Gyasi, while the Assistant Secretary post has Mar James Dwamena Yamoah and Mar Emmanuesl Annor Appiah.

For Organizer, the incumbent Mr Seth Dunwell Otchere is being challenged by Mr Richard Amofah, the Youth Organizer, for the Women's Organizer, the incumbent Ms Grace Attafua has Mrs Agnes Anita Annkrah as her challenger.

For Treasurer, Nana Ofori Atta is contesting with Ms Josephine Osafo, Dr Samuel Yaw Annor and Mar Peter Padi Asimeh while the Youth Organizer position is being contested by Mr B.A. Yeboah, Mr Ahmed Yusif, Mr Eric Kwaku Tetteh and Mr Kwame Appiah Kodua.
