NPP's victory in 2008 will depend on unity

New Edubiase (Ash), Oct. 29, GNA - Mr Osei-Assibey Antwi, Ashanti Regional First Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that the Party's victory in 2008 will depend on the unity of members.

He said the upheavals, which seem to engulf the NPP in Ashanti in view of the current constituency elections were worrisome. Speaking at the election of Adansi South constituency leaders of the NPP at New Edubiase, Mr Osei-Assibey said as a human institution, there would be disagreement and misunderstanding sometimes, but such situations should not generate into chaos.


He called for peace and unity in the party in the Ashanti region to ensure peace.


Mr Thomas Kwaku Mensah was elected the new constituency chairman with Mr Prince Amfo Boahen and Mr Kwaku Opoku as first and second vice-chairmen respectively.

Mr Kyei Baffour De-Graft took the position of organizer while Mr Anthony Appiah and Mr Kusi Obuodum were elected secretary and assistant secretary respectively.


The post of youth organizer went to Mr Anthony Yeboah and Mr Joseph Ntrakwah became the treasurer.


Mr Mensah expressed his appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and his colleagues and promised to work hard to wrest the seat from the NDC in 2008.
