The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended primaries in three constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary primaries slated for June 20, 2020.
The affected constituencies include, Kwadaso, in the Ashanti region, Gushegu in the Northern region and Dormaa Central in the Bono region.
Announcing the decision, the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu said issues over album among others informed their decision to put on hold the primaries in the three constituencies.
“Constituency primaries in Kwadaso in the Ashanti region has been suspended till further notice. They have issues with the album that we’ve not finished addressing. So on 20th June, Kwadaso constituency will not be part of it.
“Gushegu constituency in the Northern region has been suspended till further notice. Dormaa Central constituency in the Bono region has been suspended till further notice. Dormaa central constituency, very soon after some programmes have been put in place, we’ll announce the details for Dormaa Central constituency and what needs to be done.”
