The Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has described the petition by ministers, groups, lawyers and NDC faithful for the President to free the Montie trio as useless and funny.
Speaking on Atinka AM drive Wednesday, Nana Akomea wondered why these ministers who are Cabinet members could not advise the President during one of their weekly meetings instead of signing a petition asking the president to pardon prisoners who have been found guilty by a competent court .
He expressed surprise over the fact that these NDC members are putting pressure on the president to free the Montie boys without doing same for other prisoners who committed minor offences like stealing due to hardships .
Nana Akomea wondered why some of these ministers who signed the petition are not fighting for minor offenders but rather fighting for people who have threatened to kill judges .
Nana Akomea stated that petition does not make sense and that no one should dare overturn verdict.
