Gomoa-Panfokrom (C/R), March, 28.GNA- One hundred students of Gomoa- Panfokrom women's training institute owe the institute a total amount of 5,000 Ghana Cedis in school fees arrears.
Madam Rebecca Ampah-Korsah, Headmistress of the institute told the GNA in an interview at Gomoa-Panfokrom at the weekend. She said that the situation has affected the smooth running of the institute and appeal to parent and guidance whose wards were involve to initiate immediate move to pay their respective bills without any further delay or suffer the possible rejection from the school. Madam Ampah-Korsah called for the replacement of retired and transferred administrative staff of the institute to ensure effective administrative work at the institute.
According to the headmistress, the institute had been without a number of core administrative officers including secretaries and accountants for over a year now, saying that the issue had being a major concern of the management of the institute. She appealed to the government to resume work on the new and a bigger Assembly hall for the institute which took off a year ago but later abandoned.
Madam Ampah-Korsah also requested the government to expedite action on the implementation of plans to construct bungalows for teachers of the institute eliminate the situation in which teachers live in Agona Swedru and Winneba but commute to teach at the school everyday.
Mr. Dominic Binney Wilson, Chairman of Panfokrom women's training institute Parents Teachers Association (PTA), praised the government for successfully completing road works on the Panfokrom-Gomoa-Awomerew road. Mr. Wilson said that with the completion and tarring of the 3-kilometer road, parents and guidance who would find it easier to visit their wards. 28 March 10
