104 Police Officers graduates from Police College

A total of 104 Police officers have graduated at the Police Command and Staff College at Winneba since its establishment about a year ago Commandant of the College said on Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mrs. Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah made this known during the graduation of 59 Deputy Superintendents of police (DSP) who undertook a five week intensive Junior Command Course at the college. The course is to among other things, help them to become effective and efficient middle managers.

According to the Commandant, so far all the students had been officers, from the ranks of Assistant Superintendents to Chief Superintendent of Polices.

She said the college run’s Staff Duties and Senior Command and Junior Command Courses, which are designed to provide quality, professional, practical and skill development training for its students.

ACP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah said this would enhance the Officers Command, Staff, Operational and Managerial Capacities in a bid to provide quality law enforcement service to the country.

She said the students exhibited improved skills and also deployed the necessary commitment to learn, acquire knowledge, develop expertise and embrace the appropriate values and attitude as commanders.

The Commandant congratulated the graduates and reminded them that the future of the Police Service rests on their shoulders and that they should properly utilize the knowledge and skills acquired as commanders to contribute their quota towards the building of a safe and peaceful society.

ACP Mrs.Tiwaa Addo-Danquah expressed her appreciation to the National Investment Bank, Zenith Bank, Prudential Bank and the Cal Bank for donating various sums of money to support the College’s growth and development.

She thanked the Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional area, Neenyi Ghartey VII, for his occasional visits to the college to check on their progress as well as his counseling, which has boosted their morale.

The graduates were presented with Certificates of participation.
