The Member of Parliament for Krachi East Constituency in the Oti Region, Hon. Michael Yaw Gyato has extended electricity to 16 communities in the constituency.

The supply of electricity to the communities which was made possible through the able facilitation of the member of Parliament formed part of efforts towards ensuring that all communities within the Municipality are connected on the national grid.

Communities that were benefited from the rural electrification projects were Katanga Tornu, Dadoto and Matamanu, Cement, Bidi, Motorway, Njare, Kpogede, Azizakpe, Yabram, Addakope, Skeli, Abrewankor, Kofie Akura, Adiembra and Dorbiso junction.

Street lights were also installed in all these communities whiles about five thousand LED bulbs were also distributed to them.

According to Hon. Gyato, the monumental achievement was a fulfilment of one of his promises made to residents of the communities.

He said "we said we need a region and it has been given to us, now we are looking for academics to fill various positions, we don't have and this should not continue".

The legislature assured that, the NPP government is doing everything possible for Ghanaians to enjoy good standard of living. Thus providing electricity, water, roads, access to quality healthcare, education etc.

" Unlike the NDC era where the former MP for the constituency Hon. Wisdom Gidisu used his common fund to buy corn mill, drums, football and others for you. I shall make sure each and everyone benefits for voting for me and Nana Akufo Addo". He said.

He therefore advised the beneficiaries to use the opportunity to encourage their wards to learn hard in other to acquire better jobs and secure better future.

For his part, the Deputy energy Minister Hon. Owuraku Adu encouraged the people to vote for Hon. Gyato and President Akufo Addo in election 2020 in other to enjoy good governance from the NPP government. He charged parents to make sure their children learn to improve upon their academic performance from this year, as they engage in businesses for better standard of living.

Hon. Owuraku Adu therefore, debunked the claim that, the project was brought by the former MP Hon. Wisdom Gidisu. “I heard some people were saying the former MP brought this project we are commissioning today. It is never true I personally signed all the documents in my office, Hon. Gyato was always in my office because of this light".

The Volta / Oti Regional PRO for PDS Mr Benjamin Antwi cautioned the people not to temper with the electrical cables with the mind of repairing it since it can easily end up their lives because of it's high voltage, but rather, report to their trained staff or call the regional manager in case they notice any fault.

Mr Antwi therefore, urged them to use the power wisely to avoid paying huge bills at the end of every month.
