16 injured in head-on crash at Nyamebekyere

Sixteen people were injured in a head-on collision at Nyamebekyere on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway at dawn on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

The accident involved a Ford Transit with registration number AS 7172-23 and a Kia Rhino, AS 3058-X.

In a press release dated November 18, 2025, it stated that a team of eight firefighters from the Bechem Fire Station, led by STNO II Simon Yeboah, responded to a distress call at 5:38 a.m. and worked to rescue all occupants from both vehicles.

The fourteen passengers in the Ford Transit and two in the Kia Rhino were extricated and conveyed to the Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Center.

The Fire Service confirmed that although the victims sustained various injuries, no deaths occurred.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged, while the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
