Ho, Feb. 2, GNA - A total of 17 candidates including the Very Reverend Dr Livingstone Komla Buama, immediate past Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Church, have filed their nominations to vie for the Volta region's single seat on the Council of State. Also vying is Alhaji Hamza Umar Danjuma, Volta Region Chief Imam as well as six traditional rulers, the Volta Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission (EC), said at Ho.
Two women, one of whom is a traditional ruler, are also contesting. The candidates are Togbe Koku Ayim, Paramount Chief of Ziavi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu IV, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area, Nana Addo K. Cheddere II, Paramount Chief of Challa Traditional Area,Togbe Noagbesenu III, Fiaga of Awate Todzi Traditional Area,Togbe Binah Lawluvi of Ziope and Mama Attrato II, Queen of Ho-Dome.
Other contestants are Dr. L.K.T. Dorvlo, a Pensioner, Mr Sampson K. Apraku, self employed and Mr Ransford Linus Ocloo, a Youth Worker. The rest are Dr. Bernard Glover, Mr Alphonse Amegashie, Mr Kpe Amegbor C. Kwami, Mr Shem H. Mensah Adu, Mr Mishio Koffi Benjamin and Ms Valeria Mawuena Akuffo.
