199 Final Year Students Owe Twene Amanfo Secondary ? 47,362,000
About 199 out of the total of 279 final year students of the Twene Amanfo Technical Secondary School in Sunyani, owe the school about (47,362, 000) being areas in school fees.
This represents about 65% of the total number of final year students who have defaulted in payment of school fees.
The Head of the Business Department of the school, Mr. Osei Marfo advised the students to pay their fees and attend classes regularly to enable them prepare adequately for their final examinations.
Mr Marfo, who doubles as a member of the board of the Old Students Association of the school, told Space FM that the manner in which some of the final year students absent themselves from school during the period for their final examination, is very worrying.
He noted that most of the students have cultivated the habit of coming to school late to school with the excuse that stay deep in the night for studies.
According to him even though they have to study hard to come out with flying colours, it is not advisable to spend too much time in the night without replenishing the lost energy.
He therefore called on them to desist from over reliance on the so called ?Apo? saying at this computer age, students can easily be deceived with wrong stuffs which may have an adverse effect on their exams.
He appealed to parents to always confirm from the school authorities whether their wards have paid the fees they have given them.
