Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), April 15,GNA - A total of 2,763 candidates of 1,474 boys and 1,289 girls are taking part in the six-day long Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) examination at various accredited centres in the Dormaa Municipality. Mr Gordon Kyereh Amponsah, Municipal Basic Education Examinations Coordinator, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Dormaa-Ahenkro, said the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) had provided enough examination materials for the smooth running of the exercise.

He said the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana Police Service had respectively ensured adequate numbers of invigilators and security personnel were available to supervise the examination at all the centres.

Mr. Kyereh Amponsah noted that candidates' facial expression on the first day of the examinations at the various centres indicated their preparedness to put up their best.

He said before the commencement of the first paper, the candidates were briefed about the harmful effects of examination malpractices to ensure that the examinations ended successfully. In a related development, Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah, Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive and Hajia Ashetu Banda, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Women's Organiser, have visited examination centres in the municipality to inspire candidates to put up their best. 15 April 11
