The Superintendent Minister for the Ayeduase Circuit of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Very Rev. Stephen Polley-Johnston, has implored Ghanaians not to pay attention to some men of God in the country who are currently prophesying political victories for the two main contenders in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, most of the prophets speak not from divinely inspired directions of God but from their political persuasions, aimed at courting attention to themselves and seeking followers.

The Very Rev. Stephen Polley-Johnston entreated such men of God to desist from such actions, urging that one God could not give contradictory prophecies to two different pastors to declare candidates winners in an election yet to be held.

Former President John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, as well as the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have both been declared winners, respectively, by some Ghanaian prophets.

But the Very Rev. Stephen Polley-Johnston insisted that the practice tends to breed animosity among the public, adding that they should rather prophesy on developments that empower the growth of the Kingdom of God at all times.

He made the call when the Ayeduase Circuit of the Methodist Church of Ghana held its 10th anniversary at Ayeduase in the Oforikrom constituency.

He further advised Ghanaians to practice their voting in a more decorous manner, devoid of attacks, so that the democratic path Ghana has chosen as a nation would be consolidated at all times.

The man of God urged Ghanaians to refrain from any form of act that would create violence before or after the elections so that the path of democracy we have charted over the years would be consolidated.
