A 27-year-old security guard who also works at a supermarket has been found dead in a river at Mankessin in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
Reports gathered by Kasapa News' Yaw Boagyan revealed that the deceased, Akwesi Appiah-Adjei, went to River Ochi to swim after offloading some items from a car to the supermarket but unfortunately drowned.
Teenagers who were at the scene rushed to the house and reported the incident, but nobody attempted to search for him.
Some mechanics who were informed went to the riverside in a bid to rescue him, but since they did not see any sign of the deceased, they returned home.
On Saturday, June 1, 2024, a woman who was going to fetch water found the body floating on the river, so she quickly rushed home and informed the community members.
Police from Mankessim, who were informed, with the support of the residents, retrieved the body.
Due to the decomposing nature of the body, police and family members agreed to bury the deceased.
