33-year-old expectant mother found dead on farm in Bono Region

A 33-year-old pregnant woman has been found dead on her family’s farm near Yawusukrom in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.

The deceased, identified only as Haiga, was reportedly eight months pregnant.

She reportedly left home on Thursday, November 5, 2025, to harvest okra on the farm but did not return.

According to a report by metrotvonline.com on November 7, 2025, her husband, Elder Kumbur Bright, returned home around 6 PM and asked Haiga’s younger sister who was unwell if she had seen her.

The sister indicated that Haiga had not come back from the farm.

Alarmed by the situation, Elder Bright went to the farm to look for his wife and discovered her lifeless body.

He recalled his brothers for assistance, and together, they reported the incident to the Nkrankwanta Police, the report added.

Police officers from the Nkrankwanta District visited the scene later that night and retrieved the body at about 11 PM.

Authorities say investigations have begun to determine the cause of death, the report indicated.
