Senfi (Ash), April 10, GNA- The people of Senfi in the Amansie East district of the Ashanti Region on Monday bagged 36.5 million cedis at a fund-raising harvest towards their electrification project. The project estimated at 100 million cedis is being financed through special levies ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 cedis for both residents and non-resident citizens.

Mr Agyemang Manu, assemblyman for the area said, so far 30 low-tension poles had been procured at the cost of 20 million cedis. He said the amount raised would be used in procuring additional 10 low-tension poles and other materials for the project.

He urged the people to bury their differences and pay their levies promptly to ensure the early completion of the project. Mr Manu appealed to non-resident citizens to visit home periodically and support the face-lift of the area.

Mr Richard Aboagye, the Amansie District Chief Executive and Mr Kofi Adusei Poku, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bekwai, jointly contributed one million cedis towards the project. They also donated 30 bags of cement and four packets of roofing sheets for the rehabilitation of the town's junior secondary school block. 10 April 07
