Mamponteng (Ash), Oct 16, GNA- The Veterinary Services Department in the Kwabre District has recorded 39 dog-bites cases from January to September this year.
Mr Ebenezer Aboagye, Deputy District Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), who announced this, said there were no reported cases in the district last year.
Presenting the Agricultural Sub-Committee's report of the district assembly on Monday, he said 10 of the 39 dogs are dead, an indication that they had rabies.
The report advised the assembly to take immediate steps to educate the people on the need to have domestic animals vaccinated and registered.
