750 Dollars Scholarship for Nyankpanduri SSS

750 US dollars has been given to the brillant but needy students of the Nyankpanduri Business Secondary School in the Northern Region of the country.

The schorlarship scheme was instituted by an American philanthropist, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer when they paid a visit to the school in 1999. The headmaster of the school, Justice Pedavoah disclosed this at Nyankpanduri at a ceremony in honour of the couple’s kind gesture done to the school recently.

Justice Pedavoah said this year’s award is to cater for six students and three distinguished teachers in the school. He said the six students will enjoy the bursary throughout their three years stay in the school.

Other presentations were a ?26.5 million Nissan single cabin pick-up donatted by the school’s PTA and volumes of books worth four million cedis by the BESFA Rural Bank Limited operating in the Bawku and Nyankpanduri areas.

Presenting the books, the representative of the Bank, Madam Cindy Lariba advised the headmaster and his teaching staff to put the books to good use and assured the school of more packages.

The Northern Director of Education, Mr. Chickpa Denuyako expressed gratitude to the donors for the gesture and urged them to continue to support the school. Mr. Denuyako called on the teachers and students to put up their best to make the Spencers proud of their care and love for them.
