The Benkumhene of Akim Abuakwa Traditional Area and Begorohene, Osabarima Awuah Kotoko, the Second, has commended the government for its sensitivity to the health needs of the people in Fanteakwa District.

Osabarima Awuah Kotoko, who is also the Begorohene, made this remarks at the commissioning of a district Hospital at Begoro in the Fanteakwa District on Wednesday.

He noted that the construction of the district hospital had been on the drawing board over the years but had come to reality during the NPP administration.

The 60-bed hospital with six nurses quarters was constructed by VAHMED Construction Limited at the cost of 18 million US Dollars with Austrian Government assistance.

Osabarima Awuah Kotoko said the hospital has relieved the people from being referred to hospitals at New Tafo and Koforidua resulting in pre-mature deaths.

He assured the government of their unflinching support.

The District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa, Mr Ebenezer Ofoe Caesar, said efforts were underway to establish a telecommunication network at Begoro to facilitate the work of the staff of the hospital.
