Hohoe, July 4, GNA- Feuding factions within the Apostles Revelation Society (ARS) in Hohoe have finally settled their differences after five years of heightened impasse.
They smoked the peace pipe last Sunday in an arbitration initiated by Togbega Gabusu VI, Paramount Chief of the Gbi traditional area attended by an eight-man delegation from the Society's headquarters at Tadzewu led by Mr Shadrack Agutor.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Togbega Gabusu said the factions have agreed collectively to ascribe to the peace agreement and have accordingly agreed to worship together. He said the impasse was a recipe for religious violence hence the need to deploy the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADS) initiative to mediate.
Togbega Gabusu said the trouble was over alleged overstaying in office and financial misappropriation on the part of Reverend Apostles James Fume and Wisdom Klutse, both regional and Hohoe district Pastors, respectively, by some 50 Presbyters of the Church.
Togbega Gabusu said the factions agreed after 10 hours of arbitration and deliberation that Rev Apostle Fume should be transferred from his station by the close of the year and the finances of the Church streamlined by a team of competent auditors.
He said the decisions reached at the arbitration would be forwarded to the Hohoe Circuit Court, where the factions had been litigating.
