African University College of Communication (AUCC), a private tertiary institution located within Accra, last Saturday matriculated a new set of students into the university.

The colourful ceremony which is the institution’s 14th matriculation saw about 390 students; 238 offering Communications and 152 Business Administration been admitted into the university.

Dr G. Korye Anim-Wright, president of the university, in his speech, said that the university is committed to promoting, protecting and upholding academic integrity.

“We hope you will join us to create a campus where an honour code of academic integrity defines who we are and how we conduct ourselves,” the AUCC president urged the students.

He further advised the students to stay focused in their educational journey, saying that there will be good times and bad times but assured them that the experiences will be teachable moments.

Dr Anim-Wright further urged the students to embrace and understand the important role communication plays and take advantage of the courses to enrich their academic background and experience.

African University College of Communication (AUCC), formerly known as the African Institute of Journalism and Communications (AIJC), is a private tertiary institution established in 2002.

The institution admitted the first batch of diploma students for its Communication Studies programme in 2002, and was formerly accredited as a tertiary institution by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) in 2004.

In 2007 and 2010, the institution received another approval from the NAB to offer Bachelor of Arts and Science degree courses to offer Journalism and Communication and Business Administration.

The school is affiliated with the University of Ghana for the award of its degree and with the National Board for Technicians Examinations (NABPTEX) for the award of its diplomas.
