AUCC cautions students against academic dishonesty

President of the African University College of Communications (AUCC) has asked students to uphold the core values of the college deeply rooted in African culture and refrain from acts that impugn academic credentials.

President of the College, Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright, gave the advice at the 14th matriculation for January and September intake, where some 390 students took an oath to be of good behaviour and uphold the integrity of the college.

She said the College started in 2002 with 60 students and has morphed into a fast growing tertiary institution with enrolment of more than 1500, an achievement she attributed to the unique values it ascribes to.

She urged students to promote and uphold academic integrity by rejecting any form of academic dishonesty.

She said the AUCC has couched the courses and programmes in a way to meet contemporary needs that seek to position students to become successful in their fields of endeavours in the competitive age of information and communication.

The students are admitted to pursue courses in communication and business administration based on the values of critical and independent thinking, creativity and innovation, respect for African cultural values, service to the community as well as ethics and integrity

The College is envisioned to become a centre of excellence in communication, business and related areas by providing opportunities for student learning, research, professional and economic development for the progress of the continent of Africa and the global community.

Authorities announced that the Academic Board of the College has approved a proposal to establish a centre for the late BBC’s broadcaster, Komla Dumor, which is to be called Komla Dumor Centre for Broadcast Journalism.
