Receiving the items, Mr Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, Minister of Education Youth and Sports expressed his appreciation for the contribution AYA had made towards resolving the problem of ASRH and the fight against HIV/AIDS in particular.
He said sexual and reproductive health of the youth was increasingly becoming a serious problem and said "government will not shirk its responsibility to the health needs of our younger citizen" Mr Baah Wiredu pledged his ministry full support for AYA projects and urged the management of the NYC to take advantage of the project and provide the youth with valuable information and education that would help them mould and shape their lives.
Mr Joe Mante, National Co-ordinator of the NYC, commended the staff of the AYA and Pathfinder International, another NGO for donating 25 million cedis toward the payment of the school fees of a number of needy students at the Youth Leadership and Skills Training Institute at Afienya.
