Bogoso (W/R) Nov.25, GNA - The Reverend Canon Theophilus Quatei-Quaynor, Parish Priest of the Saint Stephen's Anglican Church, has called on the youth to assist the government to implement its development programmes.

He made the call when addressing the second biennial delegates conference of the Anglican Young People's Association (AYPA) of the Tarkwa Archdeaconry of the Anglican Diocese of Sekondi at Bogoso on Wednesday.

The theme for the three-day conference was "Rebuilding The Broken Walls of AYPA".

Canon Quatei-Quaynor said the youth have a crucial role to play in the realisation of the objectives of government programmes.

He urged the youth to re-double their efforts and participate in the implementation of government programmes in their communities and workplaces.

Canon Quatei-Quaynor advised the youth to refrain from casual sex to protect themselves from the HIV/AIDS.

He asked members of AYPA to assist the Church to carry out its evangelism to win more souls and whip up the interest of the youth in national affairs.

Reverend Canon Isaac Samuel Kojo Plange, Parish Priest of the Holy Cross Church, Prestea, who installed new executives of the association into office, advised them to avoid using their positions to engage in active politics.

He charged members of the association "to render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God, things that are for God".
