Drobo (B/A) April 4, GNA - Mr. Kwame Effah Gyamfi, Headmaster of Drobo Secondary School, has expressed regret about delays in the completion of some projects meant to upgrade the school into a model one.

He told the Ghana News Agency at Drobo that some of the projects had been abandoned for three years and the whereabouts of the contractors were not known.

The headmaster mentioned the science laboratory, which was yet to be roofed by the KBC Company, whose contractor, Komfo Bone, who had not been seen since he (Gyamfi) assumed duty as headmaster three years ago. An Accra-based Construction Company, Fifth Flower Services Limited, also abandoned the assembly hall project, which had reached the roofing level about 19 months ago.

Mr. Gyamfi, who took the GNA round the abandoned projects, however disclosed that Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Nana Abraham Kwadwo Kwakye, Deputy Regional Minister and Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Deputy Minister of Education, had given assurance that the projects would be completed soon.

He said the assembly hall project had been re-awarded to Adom Construction Limited, while Fred Zaani Construction Company would take care of the science laboratory.

Mr. Gyamfi added work on the boys' dormitory had seen a quick and remarkable improvement as it had been roofed and was being painted by O.S.S Company Limited.

"Access roads in the school will also be rehabilitated by Adom Construction Limited, which has been mandated to rehabilitate and tar the school entrance to the administration block road", he said.
