East Akim municipal assembly has thrown a challenge to the NPP member of parliament for Abuawa north, hon. Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu to come out and show a single structure or project he has initiated at the Akim Tafo market as he has already put across in the media. Municipal chief executive of east Akim, Simon Peter Asirifi made this known at a press conference held at Akim Tafo market to respond to claims by the MP that he is the facilitator of the construction of Tafo market, construction of Tafo town roads as well as the services of the ambulance service at the Tafo government hospital.

"The assembly is committed to develop this constituency and nothing is going to stop us from achieving our aim" he added.

Mr. Simon Asirifi also appealed to the market women to appreciate the efforts of government and the assembly to uplift the image of the market and not allow themselves to be deceived by the MP who wants to achieve political credibility. He warned that there can never be total development in the area if market women and the general do not desist from playing politics with development projects in the area.

"I am therefore appealing to the MP to assist and collaborate with the assembly to develop the constituency instead of trying to claim ownership of projects by the assembly whiles no one knows what he uses his common fund for" the MCE stated.
