Gomoa Achiase (C/R), Sept 4, GNA - The Chiefs and people of Gomoa Achiase in the Central Region, have expressed concern about the decision of the Gomoa Ajumako Omanhene for them to slaughter three rams and offer three bottles of Schnapps and 200,000 cedis cash to pacify the gods of the traditional area.

Nana Okru Baah V, Chief of Achiase, who announced this at a durbar to mark the yam festival, said the chiefs and the people had decided not to honour the demand of Okatakyi Yamfo Krampah, Paramount Chief of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area.

He explained that in April this year, a certain woman who was a citizen of the town and a commercial sex worker died in Accra and was sent to the town for internment.

Nana Baah said according to the Omanhene, female friends of the deceased who thronged the town were found having sex with their male counterparts in the open.

According to the Omanhene he saw the act when he was passing by and so the following day sent a delegation to invite the Chief and elders of Achiase to answer questions as to why they allowed those women to have sex in the open.

Nana Baah said the Omanhene told the citizens of the community who went that they should slaughter three rams, one around the =93Poseban=94 shrine at Gomoa Achiase because it was a taboo and two o at Gomoa Ajumako.

He said the people denied the allegation since they did not witness any such incident.

When the GNA contacted at Gomoa Ajumako, Okatakyi Yamfo Krampah confirmed the story and said it was not his intension to force them to slaughter the rams stating that it was a taboo. He warned that if the people failed all means would be used to ensure compliance.
