Ada Forum motivates schools

Accra, Feb. 17,GNA - The Ada Concerned Citizens Forum (ACCF) on Wednesday announced its preparation towards its annual motivation prize awards to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and their teachers in the Dangme East District.

The occasion, which will take place on February 25, this year, will award Junior Secondary Schools in the District for outstanding performance in the 2004 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at the Anyamam JSS.

The awards which will be in the form of cash, certificates, television sets, books, computers, table tennis set, shield, radio/cassette recorders, electric fans, wrist watches, footballs and football jerseys will go to the headmaster of the best-managed school, the best overall pupil, best subject teacher and the overall best school in the district.

A statement signed by Mr Kwasi Bosumprah, President the forum said since the beginning of the programme about two years ago academic performance of Junior Secondary Schools has improved.

"Junior Secondary Schools in the district as a whole placed sixty-fourth out of the 110 districts in the country in the 2003 BECE, but moved significantly upwards to the fifty-second position in 2004."
