Assemblymember of Ada West District in the Greater Accra Region, Francis Addibuer Baako, has financed the mending of a dilapidated road in his electoral area to make it accessible for inhabitants and vehicles.

The road under repair connects Madavunu and Tehey to Koluedor, a town along the Accra-Aflao Road in the Ada West District. It is also a crucial route for conveying farm produce to notable markets in the Ada West and Ada East Districts, as well as major markets in the country’s capital.

Though the road serves a commercial purpose for farmers cultivating tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, and cassava, authorities have failed to complete its construction. It is, however, occasionally repaired during the substantial rainy season.

Speaking to Francis Addibuer Baako, the assemblyman for Koluedor Electoral Area, he lamented that the bad state of the road during the rainy season impedes farming and several commercial activities in the area, leaving users to their diverse predicaments.

“This road leads to other communities where public sector workers such as teachers and health workers access their posts, and it is a busy road for farmers. All these people face challenges using it, especially during the rainy season,” he lamented.

He said: “I deem it necessary to support financially to maintain this road to avert the challenges we face for the benefit of everyone who uses this route. This maintenance is not an outright solution but will save us from challenges for some time.”

Mr. Francis Addibuer Baako has therefore appealed to the government through the Ada West District Assembly and the office of the Member of Parliament for Sege Constituency to complete the construction of dilapidated roads in the district.

He believes that the government fixing this and other roads in the district will attract other businesses to the area, ensuring that the population is engaged in business throughout the year.
