Honourable Emmanuel Ashie Moore, Member of Parliament for Adentan constituency, finances the Construction of a GH ?20,000 bridge project to link New Legon and lake side ‘‘nsuo ano’’ communities within the Adenta constituency, The Republic Newspaper can confirm this.

In an interview granted this paper during an inspection tour, Mr. Ashie Moore stated that he had tried his best to secure government funds to finance the project but to no avail.

He hinted the republic newspaper that his inability to secure funding from the MPs’ common fund is due to the fact that Adenta constituency has no substantive Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to help facilitate access to these government funds.

Per the incessant pressure emanating from the people of these communities and his desire to fulfill his campaign promise, he said he had no option than to personally finance the project, with labour support from the people of both communities.

The Republic Newspaper gathered from the people within the community that, apart from the broken bridge that separates the two communities, the road itself is a major stretch of road suppose to be awarded to a contractor by government eight years ago but efforts to get this done had always proven fruitless so they will forever remain grateful to Honourable Ashie Moore for personally bearing the cost of the entire project.

He disclosed to The Republic Newspaper that the first phase of the project cost him GH?12,000 and he is ready to disburse the rest of the monies to see to the completion of the project within the stipulated deadline.

Work was steadily in progress when the republic newspaper visited and its scheduled to be completed by next weekend, the 17th of May.

Hon. Ashie Moore re-echoed that the success of the project is very important for the future of the two communities and that it will be a dent on his image not ensure the delivery of an excellent project.
