The former Accra Mayor and now member of the Council of State, Mr Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson, on Sunday held a get-together for the Dansoman Police Command.

The event, according to Mr Blankson, was specifically to appreciate and thank them for the support and cordial relationship they have had with him and the family since he moved to the area 45 years.

He said that, the occasion was also to communicate to them of his relocation from Dansoman to his new place, and promised to keep in touch always due to the friendship created over the years.

I moved from Korle Gonno to Dansoman 45 years ago, and in fact I have not seen such a patriotism and professional way of discharging one’s duty like how the police in Dansoman have carried theirs, but sadly I had to move out to a different place, however, I would not forget them,” he said.

The member of the Council of State recounted the peaceful co-existence the men in black have had with his family and the entire Dansoman community by ensuring and maintaining peace all the time.

Dansoman, he said, hardly made the news for the wrong deeds, due to the vigilance and activeness of their leaders who were always on the ground, day and night, to maintain law and order for everyone in the community.

Mr Blankson thanked all the Commanders who had worked in Dansoman for their good work in making the area stand tall in the Greater Accra Region.

He said that, to make the security very effective, the people must be bold to report all suspicious acts to the police for further action, but not to take the law into their own hands.

“A peaceful environment is where the security and the citizenry coexist for the betterment of the area for all of them,” Mr Blankson said.

While wishing the police a merry Christmas, he thanked them for their loyalty to him and his family and tasked them to ensure an incident-free festivity, especially in Dansoman and its environs.

Mr Isaac Ayitey Quaye, Deputy Superintendent of Police, in-charge of Motor, Transport and Traffic Directorate, Dansoman, who led the police to the gathering, thanked Mr Blankson for the honour done them, and wished him well where he was moving to.

While appreciating Mr Stanley Blankson for the gesture, the Deputy Superintendent, pleaded for support in terms of logistics and personnel in order to effectively discharge their duties beyond Dansoman.

Present at the ceremony was the Mount Zion Methodist Church choir to offer the melodious songs for enjoyment.
