Assin Foso (C/R), Oct. 4, GNA - Mr Isaac Edumadze Central Regional Minister, has appealed to the Management of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) to intensify education on the benefits of cocoa and make consumption accessible throughout the country.
Mr Edumadze, who made the appeal at the launching of the Central Regional Cocoa Producers Alliance (COPAL) Day at Assin Foso at the week-end called on the Management to institute measures that would encourage cocoa farmers to increase production for Ghana to become leading producing country.
Mr Kwabena Karikari Apau, Assin North District Chief Executive said the theme for the celebration - "drink cocoa daily for a healthy life", demonstrated the need for parents to introduce their children to consume cocoa.
Nana Barfour Awuah I, Menwerehene of Effutuakwa Traditional Area, appealed to COCOBOD to extend invitations to future celebrations to everyone especially cocoa farmers other than school children. About 500 school pupils and teachers who participated in the celebration were served with cocoa.
