The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome/Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has extended her benevolence to the Haatso Children’s Home operated by the Hope Community Chapel by donating some food items to help ease the financial burden on the home.

The items included five bags of maize, three bags of rice, four boxes of Kalypo drink, four boxes of bottled water and an undisclosed amount of money to buy oil and fish.

The gesture, according to the legislator, formed part of her tenth anniversary celebrations at the bar – a feat which makes her a senior lawyer.

Speaking at the presentation recently, Hon Safo said, “I cannot sit unconcerned as a mother to see my children enjoy Christmas while others who have no parents suffer. Again, this year is my tenth year at the bar. So, as a way to say thank you to God, I have decided to give back to society for how far God has brought me.”

She added that “as the children make merry and play around and their hearts are gladdened, I know the Almighty God will be up there smiling and the blessings will come in abundance so that the years ahead of me in this country and my work as a lawyer and as an MP, I will see more blessings and will move from grace to grace.”

Pastor Reindorf Ashley, who received the food items on behalf of the orphanage, thanked the legislator for the love shown to the 40 children and prayed to God to reward her abundantly.

He briefed Ms. Safo about the operations of the orphanage and pleaded for more support to enable the church meet the aspirations of the children.
