Agogoso-Ashanti, Nov. 28, GNA 96 The chiefs and people of Agogoso near Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District through communal labour, voluntary contributions and fund-raising harvest are constructing a three-classroom block, with an office, store and place of convenience for their Junior Secondary School (JSS) at an estimated cost of 250 million cedis.
Mr Akwasi Twumasi, Assemblyman for the area told the Ghana News Agency at Agogoso that the project would replace the existing JSS block which was in a deplorable state.
He said with the introduction of the Capitation grant and School Feeding Programme, enrolment in the school had increased, therefore, the need for an additional classroom block for the JSS. Mr Twumasi said the next project to be undertaken would be the construction of teachers' quarters.
He appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to rehabilitate Akonfere-Agogoso, Kyiribaa-Nantiedi and Boboso-Kyensrekrom-Akantansu roads to help the people mostly farmers to convey their produce to urban centres.
