Agona Swedru C/R), Nov 26, GNA- Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, District Chief Executive for Agona and chairman of the District Security Council (DISEC) has assured the people that the council would do everything possible to flush out "ritual murderers" in the area. He said the (DISEC), would assist people in the area to go about their businesses without fear.

Mr Agyabeng told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Swedru on Thursday in reaction to two suspected ritual murder cases which occurred on the Agona Asafo/ Kwanyako road within the last three weeks.

He said the Security Council would reconvene an emergency meeting on Monday, November 29, to draw up effective strategies to thwart the activities of those killers.

It would be recalled that within the last three weeks, a woman and a man had been killed with some of their human parts removed. The situation has created fear and anxiety among the farmers and businessmen and women in the area to go about their normal activities in a peaceful manner.

The District Chief Executive appealed to the people in the area to alert security personnel of any mischief. Mr Agyabeng said; " we have few days to go to the polls to select President and Parliamentarians, and nobody can disturb the minds of the people".

He asked the Divisional and District Police Commanders in the Agona District to let their personnel intensify day and night patrols to flush out the murderers.
