The Member of Parliament for Agona West, Mr Samuel Obodai and John Kwesi Agyabeng, District Chief Executive for Agona have inspected a number of on-going development projects estimated at more than one billion cedis.
The projects included health, education, sanitation facilities and a bridge over river Akora.
At Agona Swedru, the MP and the DCE inspected work on the rehabilitation of six primary school block estimated at 250 million cedis and construction of a 160 million cedis fence wall around the Swedru Government Hospital which is being financed from the MP's share of the Assembly's common fund.
The two politicians also inspected a 12-seater water Closet facility estimated at 120 million cedis and being financed from the HIPC fund at Agona Mensakrom.
At Agona Nyakrom, they inspected two school projects funded by the Agona District Assembly and Quality Improve Primary Schools.
Mr Agyabeng said the Agona District Assembly would construct more schools and health centres to ensure the quality of life of the people.
He assured the people in the district that President Kufuor's administration would continue to focus on rural development in order to stop the drift to urban areas.
Mr Obodai said he had sponsored more than ten students in various second cycle institutions from his share of the common fund.
He said his main priority this time was to promote children's education in the district.
