Gracing the occasion as special guest of honour and chairman, Henry Kwabena Kokofu (Esq), former EPA boss and former MP for Bantama, acknowledged Richard Agyare's consistent commitment to the development of Offinso and its environs, despite his residence in the UK.

He made these remarks during the commissioning of an ultramodern 20-seater toilet facility and water projects, generously put up by UK-based Ghanaian Richard Agyare to solve the long-standing sanitation and water challenges that had plagued the Agyeimpra community for many years.

Lawyer Kokofu referenced Agyare's commendable track record, which includes previous donations of food items and cash, construction of other toilet facilities within the municipality, and the payment of hospital bills for indigent patients detained at Offinso St Patrick's Hospital.

He then emphasized the crucial role of cleanliness and a maintenance culture, stating that the continued upkeep of the facilities would be a significant motivator for Agyare to undertake further projects.

He used the platform to admonish those still practicing open defecation to cease immediately, advocating for healthier environmental practices, and encouraged other affluent individuals to follow Agyare's exemplary lead.

Echoing these sentiments, Frank Owusu Amoah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Offinso South, thanked Agyare for his "outstanding gesture" for the community. He added that Agyare's actions were worthy of emulation and commendation.

The MCE highlighted the importance of such private initiatives, stating that "The government alone cannot do all things at a spot, and when we see people doing good things like this, we must commend them. Allowing such good individuals to work to help the communities helps to bring some relief to the government and that's very good."

Earlier in the ceremony, Nana Afriyie Kodom II, Chief of Agyeimprah and Saamanhene of the Offinso traditional area, lauded Agyare for his selfless dedication to community development. He urged other well-meaning individuals, particularly those "blessed in hands," to emulate Agyare's philanthropic spirit.

The Chief also called upon the community and designated caretakers to ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of both the water and toilet facilities.

The profound impact of these projects was evident in the jubilant expressions of the Agyeimpra residents. For many years, the severe lack of proper sanitary facilities had compelled them to resort to open defecation in nearby bushes, posing significant health and dignity challenges.

Agyare's timely intervention directly addresses this critical need, and residents expressed their overwhelming relief and joy in interviews with the media during the commissioning, marking the end of their years-long struggle for basic sanitation and water.
