Nkroful (W/R), May 24, GNA - The Ellembelle District Assembly has approved the construction of an ultra-modern police station complex at Aiyinase to meet the challenges of the oil-find and mining activities in the area. The building, which comprises a three-bedroom staff accommodation, hall, kitchen, among others, is estimated to cost GH¢ 135,000. The move forms part of measures to safeguard security in the area w ith the influx of immigrants into the district.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Daniel K. Eshun,
announced this at the first ordinary meeting of the third session of the Assembly at Nkroful. He also made an appeal through the member of the Council of State, Mr. George Kofi Dadzie, for the number in the Police Force in the district to be increased from nine to about 20. Mr. Eshun also appealed to the Police Administration and governmen t to assist the Assembly to renovate the buildings of the Nkroful and Esiam a Police Stations. For his part, Mr. Dadzie assured the young district that he would do all in his power to help the district grow. He urged civil servants in the district to lend the required suppo rt to the DCE to accelerate the pace of development.
