The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly collected GH¢74,627.78 as at June out of projected revenue of GH¢82,681.50, representing 90.26 percent of the estimated internally generated revenue.
Mr. Peter Light Koomson, the District Chief Executive, who made this known at the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly, said the Assembly had received GH¢186,769.97 as its share of the 4th Quarter release of the 2013 District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).
Mr. Koomson said projects the Assembly had marked for implementation include the establishment of a cemetery for the district capital, the re-location of all artisans, craftsman and mechanic at a suitable place in an industrial enclave, the establishment of on the spot fines against recalcitrant drivers who continue to float the laws on “No Parking”.
He said the Bisease, Abaasa, and Essiam town roads are under construction, together with street lights being installed at Bisease and Ajumako.
He said with funding from the World Bank and the International Development Association (IDA), under sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Project, 14 communities are to benefit from the supply of pipe-borne water.
They are Enyan Abaasa, Okokodo, Budukwaa, Eduakrom, Enyan Maim, Isaadze and Eyiakrom. The rest are Kromaim, Nsawadze, Nkodwo, Obontse, Onyaadze, Enyan Apaa and Mando.
Mr. Koomson said under Ghana Social Opportunity Programme, Twifo-Atti Mokwaa, Assin South, Hemang Lower Denkyira and The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam districts have been selected to benefit from $234,000 for road construction and commercial tree-planting, adding that GH¢50,000 had been allocated to each traditional council for this purpose.
