Akrofuom MP inspects projects in his constituency

Akrofuom (Ash), April 25, GNA- Mr Kwabena Appiah-Pinkrah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, has inspected a number of ongoing development projects in the area. They include the 11.6 kilometre Obuasi-Akrofuom road under construction, Ampunyaase and Botwekrom electrification project, construction of a J.S.S block of six classrooms, office and store, police station and technical/vocational skills training centre, all at Akrofuom.

The rest were a block of six classrooms at Amoakokrom, three-unit classroom block at Botwekrom, teachers' quarters at Sikaman and rehabilitation of Akrofuom-Kojo-Nkwanta road. Speaking to newsmen after the inspection, Mr Appiah-Pinkrah said Akrofuom Secondary/Technical School was to benefit from the construction of 671 million cedis computer library complex with Information Communication Technology (ICT).

The MP said 450 million cedis of the amount had been released for the project to take off.

Mr Appiah-Pinkrah said he had released 10 million cedis of his share of the MP's Common Fund as scholarship to best students of Akrofuom Secondary/Technical School.

The MP said chieftaincy dispute was affecting the development of the area, and appealed to the Asantehene to use his good offices to ensure that the kingmakers of Akrofuom selected a new chief to replace the late Nana Okai Ababio who died six years ago. He appealed to the youth to register with the National Youth Employment Programme to enable them secure employment.
