"The Sissala West Assembly is blessed with tourists centres such as the Ancient slave defence wall, the tomb of the late President Hilla Liman, the Gwollu bone setting Clinic and the Gbele Game Resort and Reserve, which can attract tourists and investors," he said. He said as a new district, they needed a collaborative effort from all stakeholders to generate enough income to cater for their numerous infrastructural needs.
"Although the government would do its best to support all the newly created districts, there is the need to also make efforts to generate enough income to run the administrative activities of the districts," he added.
Mr. Salifu Wah, Sissala East District Chief Executive, cautioned the administrators of the new district against partisan politics and engaging themselves in unnecessary confrontations with chiefs and other custodians of the land.
He advised them to widen their income generation activities net in the area and explain government policies for them to contribute meaningfully towards nation building.
Mr. Wah said the mother district was releasing 100 million cedis to the new district as seed money while a vehicle and other administrative logistics would also be given out to support the administration.
